Many times you will find photos on the web that were modified using Photoshop Cloning stamp tool. With very little artistic requirements, you can remove unpleasant objects in your photos. Objects like garbage cans, light poles..you name it. This little guide is done with a Mac.
Here are two pictures
This is the before photo…
When removing the two poles this is what I get.
You will notice that photo looks a lot more appealing to the eye.
So here is what I did to remove these unpleasing objects.
Step 1:
Open the image in photoshop and select the clone stamp tool. (see image below)
Step 2:
The main idea of the cloning stamp tool is that you actually decide which part of your photo you would like to clone. Now in my case here below I just want to build a kind of bridge in order to eliminate the objects. In order to choose your cloning reference, simply click on the option key and then select the exact spot you want to clone.
Step 3:
The last step simply requires to start brushing over the object you want to remove. Note that the orientation(X, Y) between your cloning reference and your start point of brushing will keep same distance while clicking on your left mouse click. This is important as you want might to change the angle of cloning application and it is also important for your starting point when applying the cloning. In order to reset this orientation simply release your left click and re-start your process.
